Rudeus, now sixteen and nearly a year into his time at the magic university, keeps up his training while others fear him after his duel with Badigadi. He helps Nanahoshi test summoning circles meant eventually to bring a person from their world, and he weighs the risk of repeating a past disaster. Recent Timeline

• Punishment of Linia and Pursena (Season 2 Episode 7)

Rudeus defeated Linia and Pursena after they broke his Roxy figurine, and had the attendant threaten them with permanent face markings. The attendant later revealed the threat was a bluff and the paint removable, so the punishment ended as a warning rather than lasting marks.

• Cliff and Elinalise dating, beastfolk duels, Badigadi's challenge (Season 2 Episode 8)

After Rudeus introduced Cliff to Elinalise, Cliff asked for a personal relationship; Elinalise agreed, moved by his proposal, and resolved to restrain herself while Cliff promised to cure her curse. During the autumn beastfolk courtship duels, so many challengers came for Linia and Pursena that they stayed in the women's dormitory and left the rest to Rudeus, and a challenger then demanded a duel with him because Pursena had identified him as their pack leader. Badigadi, a self-declared demon king and Kishirika's fiancé, defeated everyone waiting to reach Rudeus and challenged him; after Rudeus's strongest attack, Badigadi announced his revival and conceded victory, then struck Rudeus in turn.

These duels and relationships set the terms of the group's standing and pressure among the beastfolk and nobility.

• Nanahoshi revealed and teleportation deal (Season 2 Episode 9)

Rudeus learned that Silent Sevenstar was Nanahoshi, a person from his own world, after she showed him two Japanese names and removed her mask to give her name as Nanahoshi Shizuka. They agreed that he would supply mana for her summoning experiments in exchange for her knowledge of teleportation. When Fitz lashed out at her over the lives lost in the teleportation disaster, including her parents, Rudeus stopped her by pointing out that Nanahoshi was also a victim summoned against her will; Fitz calmed down and apologized.

• Silent bodyguard misunderstanding (Season 2 Episode 10)

Rudeus was hurt when the bodyguard ignored him on the way back to school. Luke explained she was forbidden to speak while guarding the princess. She later explained that speaking in public would undermine her intimidating reputation because of her childish voice, resolving the misunderstanding.

• Bodyguard's sex discovered (Season 2 Episode 10)

Rudeus asked Jenius about the bodyguard's sex and was unconvinced by the answer. After a warning and a fall, he concluded she was a woman despite her denial, and chose to keep treating her as male out of respect for her wish for secrecy.
