Episode Summary

11th Night: Do You Know What a Vampire Is?

Having come to enjoy money after her maid shifts, Nazuna decides to make her cuddle buddy business more profitable and sends Kou to find tired customers. Kou meets Anko Uguisu, a private detective searching for the missing Akihito, whom his friends call Akkun. That night Mahiru takes Kou and Akira to the school, where they find a teacher who vanished ten years ago and became a vampire; Anko puts a silver ring in his hand, and he dies as a human, turning to dust at dawn.

• Cuddle buddy recruitment

  Nazuna sends Kou to find tired customers for her cuddle buddy business. On a bridge he meets a tired-looking woman, Anko Uguisu, who turns out to be a private detective; she asks about the missing Akihito Akiyama, whom his friends call Akkun, and Kou pretends not to know him.

• Night school vampire encounter

  Mahiru takes Kou and Akira to the school at night to check ghost stories. They find the vampire teacher, who has been restraining himself for ten years, and Anko arrives and lets him bite her, but he recoils at the taste of her blood.

  Mahiru recognizes Kou after a long time apart and they talk privately, with Mahiru saying they are friends. Akira then reveals Kou has been skipping school to spend time with a girl, and Kou leaves to meet someone.

• Akihito turned into Seri's offspring (Episode 9)

  After Kou drags Akihito out of the karaoke room and they run, Seri catches up to kill him, but Nazuna stops her. Akihito then confesses his love and asks to become her offspring, and Seri, who had said she never meant to turn him and only wanted to spend time with him, agrees. She then invites the group to karaoke to celebrate the new offspring.

• Covert photo case solved (Episode 10)

  Covert photos of the maid uniform were posted online. Kou deduced that Arisa had taken them herself after closing hours, since the photos were too polished, lacked underskirt shots, and were all taken when no staff or customers were present. He caught her in a locker stakeout. Her motive was to prove she remained popular after falling from the number one spot. Midori said that the wish for recognition is shared by many of the maids, so Arisa's quitting was not needed.

• Missing teacher's death at dawn (Episode 11)

  Kou, Akira and Mahiru meet a teacher who vanished ten years ago, now a vampire, at the school at night. He admits he has held back for ten years and cannot resist any longer, then bites Anko, who offers her neck, but he recoils because she tastes bad. Anko, a private detective, learns he never fed properly in those ten years. She puts a silver ring in his hand and calms him until dawn, when he turns to dust as a human, as Anko had said he would die that day anyway.

  A person can become a vampire only if they fall in love with the vampire who would turn them; a bite alone is not enough.

  For vampires, blood is simply food, and feeding does not require creating new offspring; making many offspring is not a universal habit. Human blood tastes best at night, especially just before a person falls asleep, because it is infused with night. For vampires, sucking blood is not only eating but also copulating under certain conditions.

Kou Yamori, a 14-year-old who has stopped going to school and cannot sleep, meets the vampire Nazuna Nanakusa on a night walk and asks her to turn him. To become a vampire he must first fall in love with her, so she keeps drinking his blood while he tries. He reconnects with his childhood friend Akira, helps the overworked office worker Kiyosumi at Nazuna's cuddle buddy business, and faces Nazuna's vampire circle, who say they must turn him or kill him because he knows too much; Kou declares he wants Nazuna and will become a vampire.

He then learns he has only one year from his first bite to turn, dates Nazuna on Seri's advice, and reconnects with his old friend Mahiru. Seri, tired of romance in every relationship with humans, makes her persistent friend Akihito her offspring after Kou steps in. At Midori's maid cafe, Kou exposes the maid Arisa as the one who took the covert photos of herself.

While recruiting customers for Nazuna, Kou meets the private detective Anko Uguisu, who is searching for the missing Akihito. At the school at night with Mahiru and Akira, he faces a teacher who vanished ten years ago and became a vampire; Anko lets him die as a human with a silver ring and vows to stop Kou's dream.
