Recent Timeline

  • Qualifier opening win and overheard criticism (Episode 7)

Chinatsu's team won its first qualifier match 78–54, though a teammate warned that the competition had only just begun. Chinatsu and a teammate then overheard opposing players dismissing her performance, saying she had barely improved since a practice match and would be easy to guard. She led her upset teammate away and resolved to take the criticism seriously and silence it by excelling against Kagohara. Taiki, meanwhile, suffered another straight-games defeat to Haryu and wished he could win at least one match before the tournament.

  • Qualifier results and Inter-High spots (Episode 8)

Chinatsu secured her place in the basketball final and qualified for the Inter-High, reaching the goal she had worked toward. Taiki lost his singles match to Yusa 21-11, 21-13, ending his tournament earlier than expected and leaving him no further chance to qualify. Hyodo won the singles title with Haryu as runner-up. Haryu qualified for the Inter-High as a second-year and vowed to beat Hyodo there.

  • Taiki's illness after exams (Episode 9)

Taiki declined the club's post-exam celebration because he was ill with a headache and suspected fever. Chinatsu insisted on caring for him at home, cooking udon and staying until he fell asleep. He collapsed while trying to help clear the meal.

  • Father accepts Chinatsu's stay (Episode 10)

At a family barbecue, Chinatsu offered to help rather than be treated as a guest. Taiki's father apologized for keeping his distance and admitted he had hesitated to take her in. He said Taiki's mother had argued they should protect two important years of Chinatsu's life, and that this convinced him to support her wishes. He added that her Inter-High qualification made him proud.

  • Chinatsu sets a boundary (Episode 10)

On the way back from the errand, Taiki pulled Chinatsu out of the way of a car, touching her again without thinking. She asked him to forget what happened while he had a fever, saying she had not been considerate about living with a boy and would prevent a repeat. Taiki read this as a boundary and felt hurt that she seemed to be distancing herself.
