Recent Timeline
- Natsume revealed as Beta and Drake's death (Episode 10)
At a signing event in Lindwurm, Cid discovers that the popular author Natsume is Beta. Her books, including Romeo e Julietta and Asherella, are plagiarized from the past-life stories Cid once told her, which he had shared expecting inspiration rather than theft. Shortly after, Archbishop Drake is found dead, killed by the Cult's executioner. A rooftop assailant who attacked Cid is killed by Epsilon, and the Cult's henchmen are captured while the executioner goes into hiding.
- Shadow enters the Goddess' Trial and the barrier breaks (Episode 11)
Cid, secretly entered by Rose, is called as the next challenger but does not come forward. Instead he creates a distracting light above the arena and jumps in as Shadow, leaving the Church's Nelson unprepared. When Shadow channels his magic, the Sanctuary conjures a door on its own and Aurora appears. After Aurora's defeat, the arena barrier breaks open unexpectedly, surprising everyone including Nelson, and a magic door appears in the middle of the arena while a magic seal spreads across the city.
- Venom's defeat, Aurora's release, and Nelson's exposure (Episode 12)
As Alpha's squad enters the Sanctuary door, Nelson's guard Venom attacks Epsilon in the arena. She dodges his slash and defeats him faster than anyone could see, keeping her speed hidden. In the white void room, Cid removes the straitjacket Aurora was wearing, and she asks him to work with her to reach the Sanctuary's core and escape. Aurora then ends a memory of her younger self crying by slapping that version of herself, shattering the memory. Alpha forces Nelson to confirm he is the Eleventh of the Rounds, one of the chosen Knights, which exposes his place in the Cult's leadership.
- Battlefield memory and the clone massacre (Episode 13)
Cid and Aurora break through a memory of a battlefield where the dead rise to attack them as the Sanctuary rejects intruders. Cid defeats the dead while Aurora is protected, and they reach the center door, where a chained door and a sword that cannot be drawn block their path. Delta destroys over a hundred Nelson clones with her Iron Slab sword despite the Sanctuary draining power. Alpha deduces that Nelson was once a scientist and that the clones share one brain and cannot be controlled well. Panicked, Nelson summons Olivier's memory from her statue.
- Shadow Garden's withdrawal and Olivier's attack at the core (Episode 13)
Shadow Garden finishes investigating the possessed archive, learns how the Sanctuary's defenses work, and regroups to exit, leaving Nelson unable to stop them and planning a return visit at a time of their choosing. Nelson sends Olivier, a mindless shell with Alpha's face, against Cid at the Sanctuary center. Olivier breaks Cid's sword and wounds his shoulder, and Aurora begs Cid to stop, knowing no human can defeat Olivier. Olivier then stabs Cid, who opens the right eye he had kept closed since finding Aurora and says he has caught Olivier, as magic unaffected by the core flares through his circuits.
