Recent Timeline
- MCA cargo ambush and banknote scheme (Season 2 Episode 4)
MCA-hired bandits ambushed a high-value Mitsugoshi cargo trade, but the employees they threatened were Nu, Chi, and Omega in disguise, and Shadow Garden encircled and crushed the bandits in a one-sided fight. Nu reported that the assault significantly weakened the MCA, forcing it to rely on legitimate resources in the coming war. Meanwhile MCA-affiliated merchants held a citywide sale to celebrate the new 1000 Zeni banknote, which Cid judged cruder than Mitsugoshi's notes. Cid and Yukime then plotted to counterfeit MCA notes and, at Yukime's proposal, to let the fakes be discovered to trigger a credit crisis while cashing out beforehand.
- Headquarters intrusion and counterfeit spotted (Season 2 Episode 5)
Gamma, Omega, and Chi repelled intruders at Mitsugoshi headquarters, and Leaf One died when Gamma's flung sword pierced his neck and exploded. Garter then had to report the failed raid to Gettan. Shadow Garden caught the counterfeit currency after a few bills appeared in Mitsugoshi stores. Gamma reported to Alpha that the patrons seemed unaware the money was forged.
- Train confrontations and Garter's orders (Season 2 Episode 6)
Delta charged John Smith's cabin to hunt him but was overpowered by his magical strings and buried under train debris. Recognizing her master Shadow by his scent, she turned playful, and Cid sent her to hunt Juggernaut at the Black Tower in the Lawless City. In the MCA office, Gettan beheaded one Cult agent who jested about his personal relations, then killed the remaining agent to frighten the hesitant Garter into compliance, leaving Garter to enforce royal capital checkpoints and find the source of the counterfeit bills. The MCA checkpoint was effortlessly destroyed as the train approached, and its senior member hoped they could go into hiding before the monsters found them. Atop the train, Alpha confronted John Smith, realized he was Shadow, and was defeated when her new mist form met Tiger Kung Fu and Iron Palm, left behind on the tracks as the train moved on.
- MCA bank run and Gettan's death (Season 2 Episode 7)
Counterfeit MCA banknotes eroded public trust until citizens rushed the banks and MCA branches closed. The Major Corporate Alliance collapsed, forcing the crown to intervene: Iris Midgar and the Crimson Order raided its vault, found it empty, and had Garter arrested. Gettan, the Cult of Diablos agent who had plotted to bankrupt Mitsugoshi, was beaten by Yukime's war fans, attacked her again with a red pill, and died after John Smith beat him, entrusting Yukime to him.
- Shadow's code decoded and Yukime joins (Season 2 Episode 7)
Eta and Beta cracked Shadow's coded notes, and Shadow Garden concluded he had run the counterfeit scheme to turn the Cult's plot against it and had stored the exchanged gold for them. Alpha then revealed to Yukime that Mitsugoshi was Shadow Garden's public front, and Yukime joined, with Snow Fox Corporation serving as underworld liaison. Towers of gold at Mitsugoshi's branches restored public trust in the company.
