World Memo

  • Demons devour humans

Demons devour humans and are nocturnal, so crossing the mountain at night is perilous and demons roam about at night.

  • Demon physical prowess

Demons have great physical strength and powerful regeneration.

  • Demon power scales with victims eaten

Demons eat humans to gain strength, as humans eat food; a demon's power is proportional to the number of victims it has devoured, and a Demon Slayer's sharpened sense of smell can reveal that number.

  • Blood Demon Art spells

Some kinds of demons possess spells called Blood Demon Art, which grant them supernatural abilities.

  • Demon Slayer uniform fibre

The Demon Slayer uniform is made of a special fibre that is waterproof, flame retardant, and strong enough to repel the claws and teeth of a weak demon.

  • Blood Demon Art naming convention

Demon techniques are classed as Blood Demon Arts and given a name, such as Scent of Illusory Blood, Visual Dream.

  • Blood transfusion sustains modified demons

Demons whose bodies have been modified need only small amounts of blood to survive, taken by blood transfusion. A demon transformed by another needs less blood than the one who transformed them.

  • Demons avoid forming groups

Demons do not form groups because it would let them band together against Muzan; Muzan himself manipulates demons into staying apart.

  • Only Muzan destroys demon cells

Demons are normally unable to harm each other, but Muzan alone is capable of destroying demon cells.

  • Demon domain rearranges house rooms

A demon's domain can rearrange the rooms of the house it occupies, so the layout shifts with each beat of its tsuzumi and the house becomes the demon's domain.

  • Marechi blood rarity

Human blood has different rarity and value to demons; someone with rare blood called Marechi is worth fifty or even a hundred ordinary people when devoured.

  • Twelve Kizuki demon rank

The Twelve Kizuki are a group of elite demons that serve directly under Muzan.

Members of the Twelve Kizuki have a number engraved on their eyeballs; a demon lacking this eye marking is not a true member, regardless of claiming the rank.

Demons of the Twelve Kizuki hold numbered ranks, and Muzan can strip a demon of its rank, as he did to the former Lower Rank Six Kyogai.

Clue Board

  • Nezuko's restraint (Episode 1)

Nezuko spends energy healing her wounds and fighting while resisting the urge to kill Tanjiro for food, and Giyu notices she is different from other demons.

  • Other children always watching (Episode 3)

Makomo says there are other children like her and Sabito, orphans raised by Sakonji, who are always watching Tanjiro; their identity and purpose are not explained.

  • Black blade color (Episode 5)

  • Nezuko sensing siblings in victims (Episode 6)

Nezuko touches the heads of Kazumi and the rescued girl and seems to see her siblings Takeo and Hanako within them, before charging the clones.

  • Muzan posing as a family man (Episode 7)

Muzan is seen living as a human with a wife and a little girl, while Tanjiro recognizes him as a demon. When the wife asks whether he has met Tanjiro before, Muzan denies it and says he must have mistaken him for someone else. Why he hides among humans and whether he truly does not know Tanjiro remains unexplained.

  • Muzan's feared hanafuda-earring enemy (Episode 8)

Muzan suddenly becomes terrified while alone, recalling a past figure standing before him, a feared enemy who raised a sword while wearing hanafuda earrings. The identity of this enemy is not revealed.

  • Possible reversal of transformation (Episode 9)

Giyu says a transformation is irreversible, yet also suggests demons may know how to reverse it, though he doubts they would help.

Tanjiro's question about returning Nezuko to a human went unanswered; the demons on Mount Fujikasane attacked him instead, so the question stays open.

Tanjiro asks whether a demon can be turned back into a human. Tamayo says a way exists but does not yet know how, and she and Yushiro are working on a method that may succeed. She needs blood samples from Nezuko and from demons closest to Muzan's powers to make an elixir.

Believing Susamaru's claim that they are Twelve Kizuki, Tanjiro resolves to extract the two demons' blood, and charges at Yahaba aiming to extract his blood to produce the treatment. Susamaru invites him to try.

  • Unidentified second scent (Episode 11)

A non-demon scent is detected at the house, and a stranger wearing a boar mask later appears and is revealed as the source of a second, non-demon scent apart from the demon's. The scent is now tied to a person, but who he is remains unknown.

  • Tsuzumi sound in the mansion (Episode 11)

A creepy tsuzumi-like sound is heard from the mansion. It is resolved in the same episode: each beat of the demon's tsuzumi shifts the rooms, which is the cause of the shifting rooms.

Tanjiro senses that the immense demon with tsuzumis embedded in its body is the strongest in the house and surmises that it has devoured a great number of victims. The count is not yet confirmed.

  • Boar-masked stranger's identity (Episode 11)

A stranger wearing a boar mask leaps out of a room, then bursts through a wall wielding a pair of serrated Nichirin swords. He declares he will kill the monster and get stronger, but his name and background are not given.

  • Marechi blood term (Episode 12)

Kyogai keeps calling Kiyoshi 'Marechi', which Tanjiro's crow explains refers to someone with rare blood worth fifty or even a hundred people if devoured; Kyogai hopes such blood will win back his rank.
