  • Blood Demon Art spells

Some kinds of demons possess spells called Blood Demon Art, which grant them supernatural abilities.

  • Blood Demon Art naming convention

Demon techniques are classed as Blood Demon Arts and given a name, such as Scent of Illusory Blood, Visual Dream.

  • Demon Slayer rank and pay

Demon Slayers can climb the ranks, and higher rank brings better pay.

  • No speaking before Hashira

Members must not speak in the presence of a Hashira; Kakushi enforce this by pressing the offender's head into the ground.

  • Butterfly Mansion as rehabilitation site

Injured Demon Slayers recuperate at the Butterfly Mansion under a head caretaker and helpers, who administer their medication. Recovered patients then go through a rehabilitation program of three stations: stretching, reflex training with medicated water cups, and full-body training played as tag.

  • Recovery from partial transformation

A person whose body has partly begun to change, such as an arm that stays altered, can avoid lasting effects by taking the medication and getting plentiful sunlight. Without them the changes may not return to normal.

  • Kasugai Crow relays messages

Demon Slayers receive messages through their assigned Kasugai Crow.

  • Breathing style names must be distinct

Each Breathing Style has its own name, and styles must not be misnamed as one another; Fire Breathing is distinct from the more familiar Flame Breathing.

  • Twelve Kizuki demon rank

The Twelve Kizuki are a group of elite demons that serve directly under Muzan.

Members of the Twelve Kizuki have a number engraved on their eyeballs; a demon lacking this eye marking is not a true member, regardless of claiming the rank.

A rank can be lost: Kyogai, once Lower Rank Six, hoped to win his place back by devouring Marechi blood.

  • Nine strongest swordsmen

The Hashira are the nine most powerful swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps.

Clue Board

  • Muzan's feared hanafuda-earring enemy (Episode 8)

Muzan suddenly becomes terrified while alone, recalling a past figure standing before him, a feared enemy who raised a sword while wearing hanafuda earrings. The identity of this enemy is not revealed.

  • Marechi blood term (Episode 12)

Kyogai calls Tanjiro 'Marechi', which Tanjiro's crow explains refers to someone with rare blood worth fifty or a hundred people if devoured; whether Tanjiro is Marechi is left open.

  • Mould-like smell at claw attack (Episode 13)

Tanjiro senses a mould-like smell that appears whenever Kyogai uses the claw attack, a cue he uses to read the attacks, though its source and meaning are not explained.

  • Source of the rattling sound (Episode 15)

A strange rattling sound travels through the air, unsettling Tanjiro; the surviving Demon Slayer says the massacre began after this sound, and its source is unexplained.

  • Tanjiro unburned by Nezuko's flames (Episode 20)

Rui wonders why Tanjiro was not burned by Nezuko's flames while his threads were, a question left unexplained.

  • Nezuko's restraint (Episode 21)

Nezuko spends energy healing her wounds and fighting while resisting the urge to kill Tanjiro for food, and Giyu notices she is different from other demons.

The Demon Slayer girl notices that Nezuko only evades her slashes and does not attack back, which she sets aside without pursuing.

  • Unexplained event surprising Muzan (Episode 22)

The Master believes something happened to Nezuko that even surprised the Demon Progenitor, but the nature of that event is not revealed.

  • Kanao's silence toward the Kakushi (Episode 23)

Kanao ignores the female Kakushi's request for permission to enter and does not answer a second question. The reason for her silence is not given.

  • Possible Upper Rank demon (Episode 24)

Kyojuro suspects the demon that killed several Demon Slayers could be a Twelve Kizuki, possibly even an Upper Rank, but no identity is confirmed.

  • Kanao's Hashira-like scent (Episode 24)

Tanjiro notices Kanao has a scent similar to the Hashira, a hint about her standing that is not yet explained.

  • Hinokami Kagura origin (Episode 25)

Shinobu knows nothing of Hinokami Kagura and only suggests Tanjiro's father may have used a different breathing style, Fire Breathing, which is not the same as Flame Breathing; the nature of Hinokami Kagura remains unexplained.

  • Nezuko's words while asleep (Episode 25)

Nezuko says "I know you can do it, Big Brother" while apparently still asleep, so it is unclear whether she is truly aware of her surroundings.

Facts

  • Inability to make choices

Shinobu finds Kanao unable to make choices and not eating until told to, even when starving.

  • Shinobu knows nothing of Hinokami Kagura

When Tanjiro asks Shinobu about Hinokami Kagura, she knows nothing about it.

  • Shinobu knows nothing of Fire Breathing

When Tanjiro asks about Fire Breathing, Shinobu gives the same response.

Evidence

  • Coin flip

Kanao takes a coin from her pocket, flips it, and catches it, looking at the flipped side while reminiscing about her past.

  • Coin given by Kanae

Kanae gives Kanao a coin to help her decide, and Kanao stares at it later while watching the trio train.

  • Father's influence described to Shinobu

After Tanjiro tells Shinobu what happened to him and how his father influenced him, she responds to the question about Hinokami Kagura.

Inferences

  • Sleep restores Nezuko's stamina

Nezuko sleeps for whole days at the mansion, and Tanjiro believes she is simply regaining her stamina.

  • Coin as a tool for choice

The coin is used to help Kanao decide, which links it to her inability to make her own choices.

  • Father may have used Fire Breathing

Shinobu suggests Tanjiro's father perhaps used Fire Breathing, which she distinguishes from the more familiar Flame Breathing and warns must not be confused with it.

Suspicions

  • Something about Nezuko surprised Muzan

The Master believes something happened to Nezuko that even surprised Muzan

  • Possible love-driven change

Kanae says that given a chance, a person's soul will open up, and that Kanao can change if she falls in love.

  • Flame Hashira may know more

Shinobu says Tanjiro could perhaps ask the Flame Hashira, who is away on a mission, so the answer remains open.
