Episode Summary

The Sacred Land, City of Deception

During the early summer break Cid stays at the dorm, where he receives a letter from Alpha about Lindwurm. Beta's plagiarism thread, Epsilon's teasing and Alexia's shopping trip to Gamma's store run in parallel. Cid and Rose then travel by train to Lindwurm, where Rose explains the Sanctuary legend and they line up at Natsume's signing, and Cid alone realizes that Natsume is Beta. The episode ends with Alpha standing over Archbishop Drake's body, Cid stopping a rooftop attacker, Epsilon reporting that the executioner escaped, and Cid moving to his own plans.

  • Break and side threads

Cid stays at the dorm and gets Alpha's letter about Lindwurm. Beta's novel frustration, Epsilon's teasing about Shadow's gazes, and Alexia's visit to Gamma's store for the Goddess's Trial happen in parallel.

  • Train journey and Lindwurm

Rose travels with Cid toward the Sacred Land and hopes for a future together. At Lindwurm they learn the Diablos legend and then find Natsume signing books, and Cid realizes she is Beta, who has plagiarized his past-life stories.

  • Drake assassination and Plan B

Alpha finds Archbishop Drake dead. Cid stops a rooftop attacker, Epsilon kills him, and she reports the executioner has gone into hiding, so the group shifts to Plan B while Cid pursues his own plans.

Recent Timeline

  • Qualifying match defeat to Rose (Episode 7)

In the first round of the student qualifying tournament, Cid fought Student Council President Rose Oriana and kept standing after each clean hit. The referee stopped the bout to prevent further blood loss and declared Rose the winner, and Cid was taken to the infirmary. Rose noted his name, and his public display of techniques ended there.

  • Cid's shielding, Rex squad and Glen's death (Episode 8)

Cid jumped in front of the attackers to save Rose and was killed, then revived himself alone with a secret technique that keeps blood flowing to his brain through magic. He later intercepted Rex and four of his men in the corridors, kicked Rex into a classroom of dead cultists, and finished him off after he panicked. Glen, unable to use magic under the Cult's barrier, held off Rex with Marco so Sherry could escape with her artifact, and was later found dead by Nu.

  • Cult attack aftermath and Lutheran's fall (Episode 9)

Shadow Garden members arrived after the barrier fell and killed the terrorists, leaving the students safe when Iris and the knights came. The Cult set the pressurized gas system alight, the auditorium and school burned, and the academy closed for an early summer break. Cid unmasked the cult knight in Lutheran Barnett's office as Lutheran, who admitted killing Lukreia for the Eye of Avarice research. Shadow then killed Lutheran the same way Lutheran had killed Lukreia, and Sherry found her father dead. Shadow was declared an enemy of the kingdom, and Sherry resolved to study abroad in Laugus, the leading city of scientific research.

  • Natsume revealed as Beta (Episode 10)

At a signing event in Lindwurm, Cid discovered that the popular author Natsume is Beta. Her books, including Romeo e Julietta and Asherella, were plagiarized from the past-life stories Cid had told her, which he had shared expecting her to be inspired rather than to steal them.

  • Archbishop Drake assassinated (Episode 10)

Archbishop Drake was found dead, killed by the Cult's executioner. A rooftop assailant who attacked Cid was killed by Epsilon, and the Cult's henchmen were captured while the executioner went into hiding.
