Recent Timeline

• MCA collapse and the gold exchange (Season 2 Episode 7)

Counterfeit MCA banknotes eroded public trust until citizens rushed the banks and the Major Corporate Alliance collapsed, drawing official intervention after Iris Midgar and the Crimson Order found the MCA vault empty. The Cult of Diablos agent Gettan, who had conspired to circulate the fake bills, was defeated by Yukime's tessens and then killed by John Smith, who had taken Yukime under his protection. Yukime then accepted Alpha's offer and joined Shadow Garden after learning the gold exchange was Shadow Garden's counter to the Cult's scheme. With the gold gained from the exchange, Mitsugoshi displayed towers of gold at its branches and resolved the process, restoring public trust in the company.

• Mitsugoshi hot spring dragon (Season 2 Episode 8)

Tears induced from Beta in the hot spring awakened a dragon that rose from the main pool and threw the guests into chaos. Shadows disguised in white fought it, and Alpha defeated it; its spirit, freed of its sorrow, ascended after licking Beta's tears. The resort staff staged the event as an opening attraction, and the golden magic from the victory left the spring water with beauty and health properties.

• Ring, Queen attack, and Kouadoi's fall (Season 2 Episode 9)

In the ruins of First Castle Town the Queen unlocked a ring tied to Hero Freya at Kouadoi's behest, and 559 attacked her as the first target. Rose parried the strike to protect her mother and was punched in the face, and the Cult Members boxed the group in; Rose's betrayal convinced 559 that Rose was unworthy to serve Lord Shadow. In a tavern, three soldiers extorted war-effort payment from Marie, beat Cid when he intervened, and were later killed by a black tendril from the bloodied Cid while looting a ruined house. After three days of fighting, 559 defeated Kouadoi's First Named Children and was knocked down by Kouadoi, but under the full moon her severed arm regenerated and she turned Kouadoi into red slime.

• Oriana matter handed to Shadow (Season 2 Episode 10)

Lambda arrived in Oriana with Shadow Garden reinforcements to confront 666 over the betrayal, but Chi and Omega informed her the matter had passed into Shadow's hands. Epsilon confirmed Shadow had already made contact with Rose, placing the situation beyond their control. Meanwhile Cid, posing as Shiron's student, performed Moonlight Sonata at the Oriana palace as compensation for his stay, captivating the guests, and several, including Duke Perv, offered to become his patrons; Shiron said he was still in training.

• Perv confronts Rose (Season 2 Episode 10)

After Cid visited Rose in her tower and urged her not to accept the wedding, Duke Perv confronted her about the visitor. Rose said the marriage would be in name only, but Perv warned that her mother's life depended on the union. Overhearing this, Cid left to initiate Plan B.
