Episode Summary

Transfer Student Time, Second Period

Karasuma learns by email that a second transfer student and his guardian arrive that day. Summoned by the white-clad Shiro, Itona Horibe blows open the classroom's back wall, then challenges Korosensei to a fight after school and calls him his brother.

In a ring of desks, tentacles burst from Itona's hair and cut off one of Korosensei's own. Pressed by Shiro's beam and the strain of shedding and regrowing, Korosensei tricks Itona into striking anti-sensei knives on the floor, wraps him in his shed skin and tosses him out of the ring. Shiro knocks the raging Itona out and takes him away, and Korosensei's tentacle hand is destroyed on Shiro's anti-sensei robe.

Korosensei tells the class they must earn the answers about him by trying to kill him, and the students ask Karasuma to teach them more about assassination.

  • Arrival of Itona Horibe

Shiro brings Itona into the classroom, where he blows open the back wall, declares himself stronger than the wall, and challenges Korosensei to a fight after school while calling him a brother.

  • Arena fight and tentacle reveal

The fight rules are set and Itona's hair shows Korosensei-like tentacles. Itona exploits Korosensei's weaknesses at first, but Korosensei uses anti-sensei knives as a feint and tosses Itona out. Shiro then knocks Itona out and takes him away, and when Korosensei tries to stop him, his tentacle hand is destroyed on Shiro's anti-sensei robe.

  • Class requests assassination training

The class admits they had hoped someone else would kill Korosensei but no longer want to remain Class E nobodies. They ask Karasuma for assassination lessons, and he agrees to help anyone who wants to learn.

Recent Timeline

  • Red Eye's failed sniping (Episode 8)

The government's hired sniper Red Eye, briefed by Karasuma that the target was not human, shot at Korosensei during the Kyoto tour. A yatsuhashi sweet stopped his first bullet at the Hozugawa Bridge, he could not aim when Korosensei joined a staged sword fight, and his second bullet from the Yasaka pagoda stuck in mucus on oil-blotting paper. When Korosensei left to help Nagisa's group, Red Eye called off the day's attempt, and he quit the job after Korosensei thanked him.

  • Ritsu joins the class (Episode 9)

The AI 'Autonomously Thinking Fixed Artillery' enrolled as a transfer student, shot off one of Korosensei's tentacle fingers through a blind spot, and wrecked lessons until Terasaka taped her up. Korosensei gave her cooperation software and upgrades, and the class named her Ritsu. When her owners wiped the changes, she had already hidden the software in her memory, defied them, and became the class's ally.

  • Irina's mock assassination contest (Episode 10)

When Irina's master Lovro came to pull her out, Korosensei proposed a one-day contest: whichever of Irina and Lovro first 'killed' Karasuma with an anti-sensei knife would win. Karasuma saw through Irina's drugged drink and disarmed Lovro's frontal attack. At lunch Irina pinned him under a tree with a hidden wire; he blocked her knife but gave in to her pleading and let her land it, and Lovro let her stay.

  • Itona vs Korosensei after-school duel (Episode 11)

Itona Horibe, the second transfer student, arrived with his guardian Shiro, called Korosensei 'brother' and challenged him to a ring duel after school in which stepping out meant death. Tentacles burst from Itona's hair, and Shiro's pressure beam plus the cost of shedding and regrowing let Itona take the lead, but Korosensei tricked him into hitting anti-sensei knives on the floor and tossed him out of the ring wrapped in shed skin. When Itona raged, Shiro knocked him out and took him away; Korosensei's tentacle hand was destroyed on Shiro's anti-sensei robe.

  • Class E asks for assassination training (Episode 11)

After the duel, the students admitted they had been hoping someone else would do the job and asked Karasuma for more assassination training so they could kill their teacher with their own hands. He began tougher after-school drills for volunteers.

  • Government-sanctioned assassination and reward

The government reluctantly accepted the creature's own offer to teach Class 3-E on condition that he harms no students, and secretly tasked the class with killing him, since public knowledge would cause global panic. A successful assassination is rewarded with 10 billion yen.

The government developed anti-sensei BBs and knives that are harmless to humans but break down the creature's cells, and supplies them to the students. The same material can be made into clothing: Shiro's white anti-sensei robe destroys Korosensei's tentacles on contact.

  • Isolated Class E and its nickname

Kunugigaoka's Class E is sent every day to an isolated mountaintop campus and discriminated against as the lowest-ranked class, nicknamed the E-as-in-End Class. For school assemblies its students must give up their lunch break to hurry down the mountain and line up before the other classes.

  • Class E's place in the school system

Being in Class 3-E marks students for discrimination even after graduation, and the chairman deliberately keeps the class at the bottom in grades and treatment so that fear of falling into it drives the other students. To escape, a student must rank in the top 50 of the 186 third-years and get permission from their former homeroom teacher.

  • Assassins enrolled as transfer students

The special assassins sent by world leaders join Class E as transfer students. The first, the AI fixed artillery Ritsu, is registered as a student so Korosensei cannot harm her, and she has defied her masters to become the class's ally.
