Episode Summary

Baseball Time

Using Nagisa's notes, Sugino throws a baseball studded with anti-sensei BBs, but Korosensei catches it with a glove. When Sugino loses heart, Korosensei tells him to stop copying the pitcher he idolizes and make use of his flexible elbows and wrists, and Sugino develops his own breaking ball. Korosensei also tells Nagisa he took on the class because of a promise.

At lunch six students rush him with anti-sensei knives; he swaps the knives for tulips, then learns the class planted those flowers and, as an apology, lets them tie him to a branch and attack him. When the branch snaps he flails on the ground, then escapes to the roof after handing out extra homework. Meanwhile Karasuma becomes Class E's PE teacher, and the suspended Karma Akabane is briefed on the assassination at the Ministry of Defense.

World Memo

  • Government-sanctioned assassination and reward

The government reluctantly accepted the creature's own offer to teach Class 3-E on condition that he harms no students, and secretly tasked the class with killing him, since public knowledge would cause global panic. A successful assassination is rewarded with 10 billion yen.

Clue Board

  • Unknown motive for the deal (Episode 1)

The creature himself proposed becoming Class 3-E's homeroom teacher, and the government reluctantly agreed without knowing what he is after. Why he wants to teach them remains unexplained.

  • Woman in the ruins (Episode 1)

Deduction Board

Facts

  • Speed and tentacles

Korosensei moves at a maximum speed of Mach 20 and has tentacles that regenerate when shot off.

  • Harmful BBs

Korosensei is harmed by the anti-sensei BBs, which the government developed specifically to kill him, though they are harmless to humans.

  • Why the government accepted

Karasuma explains two reasons: if the creature comes to class every day his location can be monitored, and thirty people get the chance to kill him at close range.

Evidence

  • Tentacle shot off

Korosensei shoots off one of his own tentacles to show the BBs harm him; it regenerates within a few seconds.

  • Skin shedding

Korosensei sheds his skin once a month and used his old skin to protect Nagisa from the grenade blast.

  • Government's failed attack

The government sent its best fighter jets, but Korosensei gave them a midair wax.

  • Nagisa's weak-point notes

Nagisa's notebook lists three weak points: Korosensei gets sloppy when showing off (the branch he was tied to snapped), panics easily (he rolled around on the ground after falling), and has no tolerance (he handed out extra homework from the roof).

Inferences

  • Weak points are character flaws

The listed weak points are actually flaws in Korosensei's character rather than exploitable weaknesses.

Suspicions

  • Motive for the deal

Even the government does not know why the creature asked to become Class 3-E's homeroom teacher.

  • Value of Nagisa's notes doubted

Kayano and Sugino are suspicious of how useful Nagisa's notes on Korosensei's weak points are.

Students attack the tied-up Korosensei hanging from a tree branch; the branch snaps and he flees to the roof.
